The theme of this class is drawn from a speech in Shakespeare’s The Tempest, “We are such stuff as dreams are made on… .” As it unfolds the theme clearly reflects the core teaching of A Course in Miracles that the world is a dream and therefore is not what it seems to be. This class, thus, focuses on the idea that the world is an illusion and, most importantly, on how we are to live within the dream. The challenge of all who study the Course and seek to practice it is how to be faithful to its teaching that the world is an illusion and none of us is really here, and yet pay attention to what goes on in the illusion in order to avoid the often tragic consequences of denying the ego. Looking at the ego with Jesus or the Holy Spirit leads to compassion toward ourselves and others for having made a wrong choice out of fear, not evil, thereby clearing our minds to accept the Love that has always been there.
The Holy Spirit, ever practical in His wisdom, accepts your dreams and uses them as means for waking.
